I just want to do a quick post regarding my new hair! “Tadaah!”. I intended to do this right after I had it done but school has started and things got a little busy so I think this will be posted about a week or two later. (ACTUALLY THIS WAS DRAFTED A MONTH AGO! SORRY GUYS!)

Anyway a little background about my hair;

  1. How often do I cut my hair: Most of the time I’d only get one hair cut a year and that’ll be every December.

  2. Haircut/style: Standard layered hair cut (length depends on the courage I’ve bottled up!) and I used to cut my fringe as well but I stopped about 2 years ago?

  3. How often do I colour my hair: I personally dye my hair depending on my mood (usually before a new school year starts) and yes it’s DIY!

  4. Hair colour: I usually stay within the burgundy or darker red tones which in turn fade into a different shades of brown.

Last year, December 31 2015 to be exact, I had the courage to cut my hair really short (Collar bone length) and this time it’s not layered! Well actually, early last year I’ve been thinking to get a hair make over or at least do something different with it. But me being me, I put that aside as I’ve been struggling with school and thought that, MY HAIR COULD WAIT. So I just retouched my roots (In August 2015) for another school year and went on with it. When I knew that we’re going back to the Philippines, I started looking for hair inspiration because I already knew that it would be the perfect time to get my hair done!

My friends know how much I wanted to get a “Balayage ombre” but I was just too scared with the idea of bleaching my hair at the same time I was thinking of why not just stick to a colour. (I am just so fickle minded and sometimes i really do enjoy having a single tone hair colour).

So fast forward, I really wanted to get an ombre so I’ve looked up on the internet and some of my fave youtubers who had done their hair in the same manner and kept lotsa photos! I’ve searched for different salons and asked around for their recommendations and finally came across Hair Inc Sg via their Facebook Ad, I have a few friends who recommended it as well!

My short hair came with a loooooot of limitations, I can’t really achieve the ombre hair I wanted, but Kenneth (My hairstylist, and I believe the director and founder of Hair Inc himself) suggested that there’s this growing trend of “Colour blocking” I don’t want to really go into the details because I don’t want to get some info wrong) but I chose that over the traditional “ombre-ombre” (where the entire ends of the hair will be bleached) because it is slightly less damaging for the hair.

I had to do 2x bleaching towards the ends of my hair to achieve the blonde I wanted and he said he put some shade/tone/hint [gaah, I don’t really know what’s the perfect term for it, sorry!] of purple so that the blonde will stay a little longer and when it fades it won’t be so orange. He also did a base colour for my entire hair so the difference in colour would not be so drastic, which appeared to be lot lighter than what they expected and he said my hair absorbs colour really well. But it was fine with me because I’ve always wanted this copper-ish colour I’ve seen on a lot of kpop girl groups HAHA! However, this bright copper-ish colour only shows up when I’m outside or when a room is well-lighted. Because sometimes when I look at different mirror the looks vary! =)) You'll see the photos in a while =))

This post is no way sponsored, but I just really wanted to share my hair journey and experience at Hair inc. Kenneth was really accommodating and the service was just fabulous! I had a great time and the results I got is as you can tell I am very pleased! (Though, There are some people who have no idea about this hair trend and they've questioned me quite a number of times on what was i thinking when i was doing my hair HAHA What's more important is that I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS!) The ambiance of their new branch at Holland V was really cozy, though he said that they are still undergoing some minor touch up for it to be better.

Overall, just a piece of advice for those of you who want to get a hair make over, JUST DO IT! You’ll never know the results until you actually give yourself a chance to find out, also do a thorough research on the salon you want to go to and get a good hairstylist whom you can discuss your “hair goals” with and you’ll be surprised with their inputs that might actually work really well for you. I must admit I was pretty damn scared when I entered the salon (Hair Inc) but I went out feeling great about my hair :> Oh and lastly, don’t be scared of what people might think of your new look, as long as you’re happy with it and you really didn’t do anything wrong just enjoy it! Besides, it’s New Year! so give yourself a treat! =)

PS: I didn’t even bother to get artistic shots because I just don’t have the time for that, so I’m so sorry with my “whatever worthy” photos. I’m sure you get the point ;) =))
