Hello there! It has been a while since I wrote a blog, and I really missed it! This is a first of many TRAVEL BLOGS-VLOGS, hopefully! I had fun documenting the trip, and I did tried my best to capture those priceless moments.

My family and I recently went on a short vacation trip to Hong Kong & Macau, and yes I am a tad bit closer to home but not quite! This is actually a surprise trip for everyone but being the OC that I am, I still planned the whole trip. It was fun and yet stressful but I did learned a lot about the country's culture and all, even before I arrived. Thanks to my mom who gave me tips on how to plan, and yes she is quite experienced in that area.

If you ever get the chance to visit a country which has DISNEYLAND, DO NOT EVER MISS IT! There is a reason why its called the 'Happiest Place on Earth', and it did justified that phrase! The one in Hong Kong is not much about the rides but rather the shows. When I watched almost all the shows, I realised you are really getting a world class performance. I was back to my 7 years old self when I entered the park, let alone when I watched the shows and parades. I am a massive Mickey Mouse fan since I was young so this was really a priceless moment for me, I know I am in my 20s but I still get butterflies in my stomach whenever I see Disney characters! And last advise, WAIT FOR THE FIREWORKS! Its is definately worth it! The best fireworks display I have ever seen.

Ocean Park on the other hand is great because of the rides, I honestly enjoyed their thrilling rides from roller coasters to all sorts of adrenaline rush kind of thing. The highlight of this park apart from the rides will be the long-long-long cable car ride, which I enjoyed! The scenery is awesome. A part of Hong Kong that I like, because unlike Singapore this country have mountains... behind their tall buildings which is not an everyday sight from where I came from.

Shopping in HK is definatley great! I did my shopping along Causeway Bay & Mongkok on my own, and it was an awesome experience. I just love the idea that there are SASA outlets at every street and the fact that you can bargain (ridiculous bargaining) along the Night Market. I guess I spammed on cosmetic products this time around, just because they are reasonably and ridiculously cheap! So don't miss out that part when you visit HK!

Macau.... Oh Macau.... This is the highlight of my trip! I persuaded my mom to visit this place. Words are not enough to describe the amazing historical landmarks in this country. If you are curious where I got my information about Macau, watch Boys Over Flowers! LOL (Seriously). The hour long ferry ride was worth it! And this is definately a place that I will go back to just to admire the scenery and the Church......and to eat Egg Tart! (Yes, I was darn serious about going there just to eat those tarts, and I did only eat those).

Admiring the skyline of HK is a thrill, and this is best viewed at Victoria's Peak. We did went on a short boat ride to Avenue of the Stars and I guess it was an interesting experience. I have always pictured Hong Kong as a country with a boat, and it was an experience that one must not miss! We did visited Madam Tussauds, a first time for most us except for my mom who is the exact reason why we went there. She love that museum since she first visited the one in London, and now I personally understand her fascination for those wax figures because its quite interesting!

Lastly, do not be surprised if the hotel rooms are quite small despite the price because it is a norm there. Also, when booking accomodations prioritise those that are near to the MTR (train) because it will make your life a lot easier! Other expenses are cheaper or comparable to Singapore but their transportation is a tad more expensive (loan the Octopus card from Airport, and avoid Airport Express coz its really expensive! Take a bus to your hotel for less than half the cost!)

I guess that's all for my travel blog-vlog!

If you ask me if HK-Macau are countries that I would love to visit again... I guess the answer is YES. Its quite friendly for solo-first time travelers! Not to forget the safety bit!

xoxo Cheska xoxo
