Hey there! Monica here!! :>

Monochrome and geometric details have remained to be one of the most sought after trends in the fashion industry, especially those who skew more towards the edgy look. It chooses no season even at this time of the year when explosion of colors in an outfit seems to be mandatory. And yes for this year’s spring and summer, the monochrome trend is here to stay once again ;) Cheers to those people who have been rocking black and white wardrobe pieces! (Wink).

You guys know that the most important factor I consider when planning an outfit for any type of occasion is its comfortableness. And to give justice to this scorching hot day and/or night weather, nothing would be more comfy than wearing a good pair of shorts and a sleeveless top. But how would it be night time appropriate? It does sound so casual but I'll touch into that next.

This origami/asymmetrical shorts, not only add texture to the outfit but also uplift shorts to a whole new level, plus evading that casual-attire vibe . But then again, what else is better than pairing a black and white geometric patterned bottom than a black and/or white top itself? The crazy details could be tamed by this plain white round neck button down sleeveless top. This combination itself screams an edgy look which I don’t usually go for, hence to make it more feminine-like, an addition of necklace and a few wrist accessories would do the job.

Notice how I incorporated pop of colors by playing with different shades of teal, as we all know teal is one of the most popular colors during spring/summer. And i must say one of my faves too! =)

It is always nice to finish off the look with an item you wouldn’t expect to look good with the rest of the outfit; and I am talking about this beautiful almost geometric-printed clutch that has great shades of teal, cream and hint of black. I would say that the harmony between these two patterns surprised me.

If you want to spice up your usual black and white get-up , try incorporating different shades of one color. And try to work it out, if you see an opportunity to add another color then do so too, as long as you are confident and comfortable with what you’ll be wearing then nothing else matters ;)

Sheer White Sleeveless Top from Cotton On, Black and White geometric printed origami/asymmetrical shorts from Flea Market, Teal and Gold Statement Necklace from Talisman, Teal and Gold Accessories are mixture from Rubi, Co. Accessories, Diva and SPell, Black Pumps from an Online shop, Blue and Green geometric patterned clutch is a Gift.

What’s on my Lips: MAC Riri Holiday Collection in Pleasure Bomb.
