FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS

--------------------------------------------------------

Cheska's Highlight:

HELLO!!!! What’s up? Oh well apologies for the super late FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS! That month was probably all about my ‘LASTS’ in Polytechnic. Time sure flies… when you are having fun or simply learning. Be it in academics or simply about life… I can pretty much say that I really changed from the Cheska that first entered Singapore Polytechnic to the Cheska that is now about to leave…

This month I had my last practical lesson, yes my very last laboratory session in polytechnic. Honestly speaking I pretty much hated practicals when I was in secondary school, probably because we have to wear those humongous laboratory goggles but I guess I got used to it. I do not dread going to the laboratory anymore it has become a part of me in a sense? But c’mon try going to the laboratory for like 50% of your poly life… you will get what I mean. HAHAHA. I am just relieved and proud that I managed to survive those hours and of cours the after effect, which is none other than the DATASHEETS! GEEEZ. Oh we had our very first class picture in the laboratory!!! Better late than NEVER!!!!

Another last…… LECTURE!!! Yes… like finally! Coincidentally our last lecture was in Advance Organic Chemistry!! (SAY WHUT?!) Another thing to celebrate… HAHAHA I am not saying I hate the module its just that it was really challenging! HAHAHA! To commemorate that day we took another class picture with our lecturer!!! And of course… those berserk and out-of-this-world pictures were from the lecture theater! HAHAHA and Yes we behave like that during lectures…. Inside our heads! LOL.

Ohhh not to forget the GRADUATION PARTY! It is so nostalgic because back when we were in year 1 we helped organize it for our seniors… and now WE ARE THE SENIORS! –sobs- I am old! Anyways the performance was great… especially the little kids and the performance by the lecturers! Oh and the winners of the Talent Time! I think the best part was the photobooth pictures with our friends, they were the people we met during events and other school activities, despite being in different courses we still managed to stay in touch.

Another LAST..... is the MUGGING PERIOD! (Extensive last minute studying) Which explains why we were pretty much MIA these past few days... HAHAHA, Honestly speaking I dread studying but I've always liked the idea of learning. I mean, I love studying as long as those information were relevant and not some ridiculous stuff... HAHAHAHA. Okay fine to sum it up, I pretty much enjoy the idea of studying for exams but not in the all smile kind of way.... but rather in the I-Am-Too-Busy to be botherd about trivial things... HAHAHA. So it is kinda my escape route from other bothersome things... like my FUTURE! LOL.

Lastly, probably the first thing that happened to me in the month of February was the short visit by my closest-oldest friend here in Singapore…. Nisaa! We met back in 2009 on the first day of secondary school and the rest was history! I do not want this to sound so dramatic.. HAHAHA Coz drama is the last thing we want in our friendship. LOL. Anyways….. all I can say is that, distance will never be an issue to remain friends. And nevertheless once you met a person who totally gets you, DO NOT LET THEM GO! These people are for keeps.

I guess that’s all for my February! I know it is the month of lovers… but I guess for me it was the month of love… maybe not in that way… but in many crazy ways! HAHAHA! Live your life as if everything was the LAST, and start everyday as if it is the BEGINNING!

Monica's Highlight:

Hey there! Monica here!! :>

Another month has ended! And it was indeed a short one, LITERALLY too! HAHA! So sorry for posting this late, as you guys know we just ended our exams =) But nonetheless let me take a quick overview of my February 2014 with you guys! ;)

As all of you may know, the first week of Feb was still Chinese New year (CNY), and so we had a few days “off” from school and celebrated CNY with boboy’s fam! It was a yearly tradition =) Also, Our School’s principal gave us a “day-off” per say for everyone’s great contribution for the open house this year, so we had a longer break! Yay!

This February was full of our “LASTS” in poly, our last laboratory classes, which meant that it was probably the last time (for some of us to wear our SP Laboratory Coat), as some wouldn’t continue doing science anymore while some would have new ones from their universities. It was really a bitter sweet moment. We also had our last lectures and tutorials, and some of our lecturers even wished us all the best and said their goodbyes which were pretty sad! The feeling was actually indescribable, believe it or not, I guess we might have been somehow attached to them in a way or another HAHA! It actually feels weird now, that I don’t get to see my classmates anymore, as we have been together for 3 years straight! Sigh pie, I am gonna miss my class! :|

Our University application has also started on the first week of February, it was hella complicated and some actually required quite a load of requirements. So we were juggling our school work, revision, and deadlines and at the same time completing our Uni application. I am just so glad now that it is finally over and my friends and I were able to submit the necessary documents =) However, I missed the application for their scholarships which was a total bummer!! The school fees’ no joke and I am beginning to worry, (if ever I’d get in, which I would claim now. I will get in. In Jesus’ name I’ll get in :>) how are we going to pay for the fees? But just like what He said, Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?... Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25 and 34).

February is also known as the love month! And I really wish that you guys had a wonderful valentine’s day! :> Nah, valentine’s day is just a typical day for me. So I have no story to tell =) Maybe next time? I don’t know HAHA.

Before our final exams, we attended the CLS Graduation Evening (“party”). It was an annual event, where Cheska and I used to be part of the helpers, when we were still in 1st or 2nd year, can’t really remember HAHA! The party went well and some of our lecturers sang songs for us which were really sweet and entertaining hehee! There was also a photobooth which my friends and I took advantage of, Like DUH? Who wouldn’t it’s free! =))

It was the 2nd week of Feb if I’m not wrong, when our FYP supervisor treated us for lunch for a job well done. At first I was thinking “How are we actually gonna say goodbye to our FYP?” since it was and it is still a continuous project. But yea there he answered it, by an official lunch date with our supervisor, it was so surreal to finally talk about the things that we have done for over a year and how much improvements we had made for the project it self :”)

Feb’s last weeks were spent mugging for our last exams and yea! It just ended just like that =))

Oh well, it may be a short one, but it sure was filled with a lot of good memories to keep. These past few days, I have been reflecting how time really flies and I could not stop on thinking what I should do to make each moment a special, good and memorable one not only for myself but also for the people around me. It is always never too late to do things you have been wanting to do, (as long as it’ll make you happy and you are not hurting anyone else or it’s not against the law or your personal religious views) GO for it! You just gotta do it, cos you know if there’s something you don’t want to do in the future is to regret not doing the things that you could have done when you had the time. This applies to everything even the tiniest detail or act. =) Don’t forget to thank God for all the blessings, small or big it is still a blessing :”>

Lets all have a blessed and Fruitful months and years ahead of us! :>
