Cheska's Thoughts...

Hola! The first month of the year (January) 2014 is over, but it has been a long and fun month for me… It was indeed tiring but it was worth it, I feel so relieved that every ounce of my effort was finally compensated with that ‘FREEDOM’ kind of feel. Okay, it sounds complicated but its pretty simple…. Let’s talk more about it. This month is probably the busiest month for every final year student in my school because of the Final Year Project submission and presentation. IT IS NERVEWRECKING, for both the report submission and presentation. For the formal report, it was the last minute changing of our conclusion and some parts of our discussion that really made us go CRAZY. It is kinda nerdy to talk about it but in layman’s term we misinterpreted a result and gave a completely different conclusion, therefore it has to be changed a few hours before the submission. Oh well, it was something that we just laughed about in the end of the day. But it was not the end, but rather just the beginning of another stage. We had sleepless nights where in we really dreamt and thought about the presentation and possible questions. We also practiced MILLIONS of times up to the point that we can actually remember each others parts… but the drive and the motivation was there because we know that it is not worth the slacking coz we practically worked our ‘butt’ off this project for 8 months… so why give up on the last lap. So there we go…we are also lucky to have a very motivating and hands-on supervisor, who bombarded us with tough questions and yet re-assured us that we are ready and everything is gonna be fine. My FYP-mates (Darrell and Jia Ying) were also the best, although we have different personalities we actually clicked in a weird way, which includes food trips and nerdy talks. Nevertheless our presentation went well, I guess, but I am satisfied because I managed to put my best foot forward and well that was the best that I can do. I am just hoping for the best, for our group and for everyone. It was also fun to see everyone dressing up to their formal wears, kinda cool! Another event that happened was the ‘Got to Believe’ shooting in Singapore. It is a drama aired in the Philippines starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, they are kinda a HIT back home. I also watch their drama, and well we practically went to the shooting location. I am not really an avid fan but I guess I was interested. So we went and snapped some pictures, I was more interested with the whole behind the scenes and how they film a specific scene. Can you believe it they actually filmed a scene for 2 hours plus and when edited it only lasted for a near 30 seconds, that’s one tedious thing but perfection overload. The last highlight of my January is MY BIRTHDAY! Yes, I am no longer a teenager! Welcome to the TWEENHOOD! I actually talked about my birthday experience and surprise in my Birthday Vlog and the Surprise Video Message, so do check it out. But I guess one thing that I would like to add is that I am REALLY excited on what other beautiful things that will happen in my life. The past two decades of my life has been about finding the real me and my own personal character, but this time around it is gonna be about showing the whole world who I am and what can I do. More pressure but more fun at the same time, I hope. Ohh, Chinese New Year also happened this month.. I am not a Chinese so not much celebration but since I am in Singapore I get to enjoy the festive season. With all the goodies and red packets, LOL. It is also a long weekend for us, but schoolworks are piling up, sigh. Lastly, I would like to share to you guys a motivational phrase… ‘Take a CHANCE, take a RISK and BELIEVE’. <3 Cheska

Monica's Thoughts...

Hey there! Monica here!! :>

Gong Xi Fa Cai!! (Happy Chinese New Year!) As we are currently living here in Singapore, we do celebrate Chinese New year (CNY)! So I am wishing all my Chinese friends and everybody who celebrates CNY!

It is the end of the month again and we can bid adios to our January! But let me sum up my January 2014 in this post! ;)

I won’t elaborate more on my first week as Ches and I did a vlog about and you can Find It HERE! But there are two things I didn’t mention: one thing was that I got to meet one of my bestest friend here!! JELLA (so glad to see her again with her fam!) And another was that I cut my bangs!!! HAHAHA! That’s all, you guys might have seen our January Faves me in action with mah bangs yo! =))

Moving on to the 2nd week of January, It was our “Last: First Day of school” in Poly! It is so odd to see my face around school and Chemical life Sciences Brochure!!!! Okay not gonna elaborate more on that as I don’t have much things to say HAHA!

Hmmm, you guys probably know that over the holidays we have been working on our Final Year Project (FYP) report and yes we finally submitted our draft on the first day of our academic year 2014, and got some comments immediately. So we started drafting our FYP power point slides later that day as well. We were also able to participate in the SP Engineering show 2014 ( A very prestigious event! Where we got to share our project with everyone, lecturers, students, parents and even people in the industry). Basically, it was our typical busy week and it continued until the 16th of January, when we needed to submit the final one. It felt so good! We were one hurdle away from graduation! But after that we kinda realized that there were mistakes in our report so we are just crossing our fingers that it wouldn’t affect us that much (Fingers-crossed).

We had about a week to finish up our slides, Ches and her group did their presentation 2 days earlier than us which made us more anxious!! Theirs went out well and they were able to handle the questions. And the day of the presentation came, I was both excited and nervous at the same time! We just couldn’t wait for it to end!! Ches together with her FYP mates came to support us (SO,VERY GRATEFUL!!) we had a mock presentation as well as Q & A. which sorta eased our nervousness.

The presentation went well, but the Q & A was bummer!! Ugh, which made me so uneasy talking about my FYP to other people. But at the end of the day our supervisor said it was overall well done, (sigh of relief) and he actually asked us if we wanted to go for the distinction panel (which was a good sign, as it meant that we really did well) But you know nothing’s confirm until we see our grades. I am just having the fullest faith in God that whatever result I’d get, I’d be able to go to the course that’s meant for me =)

Oh-oh! And I’ve got my first Full-Mark test in my entire poly life! HAHA! Better late than never, and I just feel so fulfilled that at least once in my poly life I was able to achieve a full-marks for my test! Hooray! ;)

For the last week of January, we had a test and another presentation! But that was our last presentation in poly!!! OMG. Now it really felt that we are going to leave Poly real soon!!

We planned a surprise birthday party for cheska as well, and I’ll leave that to her to tell :”) We are just so glad that we succeeded and it was definitely a mission accomplished! =))

For the last few days of January, we just welcomed Chinese New year and had a gathering with boboy’s family! Yay!

My January practically evolved in FYP, FYP and FYP! I am so glad it is over!!

January is the birthday month of a few people who mean so much to me, my friend Nica, My cousin Ivy, Uncles and my Grandma and Grandfather =) Thank God for another month that my family and I survived! =) Cheers to February!
