Katong Laksa Price: $3.50/$4.50 Place: Katong Laksa at Queenstown Shopping Centre, Singapore This is probably the BEST Laksa in town! If you happen to stay or visit Singapore make sure to get a taste of this delicacy!!! CAUTION: It is REALLY HOT! “SPICY”. Yummy is an understatement to describe this noodle but exquisite and traditional are the words that I can associate with it. Oh not to forget that it is really cheap and it comes in different sizes! On top of that you don’t need to pay any service charge, just give those friendly aunties a smile and I assure you, the dinning experience will be good enough. Traditionally Laksa has coconut milk, some other spices and of course the rice noodles. I think the highlight of this dish will be the toppings and not to forget the cockles (Ohhh yes I love them!!! But you can option to remove it.) and the chili paste that is really to die for. Actually it is already mildly spicy but I love the chili paste so I put more and more and more… Just to spice it up. The noodles were already cut into shorter shreds so don’t be surprised if they only give you a soupspoon without chopsticks, you can survive! It is also good to pair this up with Otah and for the drink you can option for their lime juice or my ever favorite, homade ice lemon tea. I usually order the smallest bowl of laksa but for big eaters out there you can always option for the bigger bowl that costs $4.5-$5 if I am not wrong. Nevertheless try this dish and you won’t regret it, unless you are not into coconut milked dish or spicy ones. <3 Cheska
