Foundation Workshop: Larry Yeo For Sephora
Hey there Monica here!! :>
On behalf of Cheska, I just want to share our amazing experience!! \m/ (Can you feel the excitement?? : D )
On Saturday, 2nd November 2013, Cheska and I attended a workshop hosted by Sephora. Okay I am sure you guys are wondering how it all happened. Well, that is why I am here, not only to share what it is about, but also to encourage you guys to participate as well! :>
HOW?: On Sephora’s official Facebook page. They posted about this workshop and that is where we found out, of course they could not hold it for everybody that is why, the RSVP was on a first-come-first serve basis. So we registered.
Supposedly, there would only be one workshop, which was supposed to be on Sunday, 3rd Novemeber 2013 (That was the date we all signed up for). But due to the overwhelming responses, they said they would be doing another one, which was on 2nd November 2013. (weird right? The supplementary workshop was held before the final one, anyway I think it was because originally, event was set on a Sunday so yea.)
On 1st of November we received an email from Sephora, saying that they would have another workshop and all those jazz.. (those I mentioned in the previous paragraph). WE WERE SUPER THRILLED!
WHERE?: Bugis + Atrium, 11 am to 1 pm.
WHAT?: What was the event about?
Well clearly, they were promoting their new Sephora 10-hour wear perfection Foundation and the rest of their Sephora private label products.
But generally, it was just like what the title claimed “ Foundation Rehab, mute your imperfections”.
Larry yeo, a celebrity make-up artist here in Singapore was the one giving the workshop and demonstration. And taught us Basic Makeup to follow for that quick “5 mins application for everyday”, such as the preparation before putting make up, how to apply your foundation, concealer, highlighter , contour, blush , eyebrow and mascara properly!
There were Sephora-Advisors assigned at each table and ours happened to be a Filipina too! How cool is that, and she looks amazing! I really find her pretttyyyy! :> They were really really helpful, approachable and friendly! Way to go Sephora Peeps!
Overall, I think this is a good workshop brought by Sephora, as well as a good marketing strategy! Not in a bad way though, as now, I am more convinced to get more Sephora private labeled products! I absolutely adore their make-up removers (I am getting one soon, I think Cheska too! Hehe), and both their liquid and powder foundations! I would also definitely give their other products a shot! :>
The workshop itself was really helpful and informative! I also liked the idea that the venue was an open area/space, thus, other ladies who just happened to walk pass, could also pick up bits and pieces of the tricks he was sharing. There were also 10% discount for all the foundation products and 20% for Sephora- private label foundation products!
And last but not the least! Other participating High-end brands, were giving free foundation samples! (ARE YOU SERIOUS?) Maybe in the states, it is pretty easy to get a sample, but here in Singapore, well as far as I know, remember and encounter, It is hard! They do not give samples just because you are undecided whether or not you’d like it! Unless of course you purchase something from them, which is pretty given!
I have always wanted to get a higher-end foundation, but undecided which one would be worth splurging my money on, and which one would actually work on me and my skin type. Hence, this was a brilliant chance for those people like me! Extra beneficial for Cheska as she does not really use Liquid foundation due to several reasons, which she will share on the coming days as we proceed to our foundation reviews, and I am 80% convinced that after this she would finally get her hands on ‘em! :D
To all of you out there, whenever Sephora would have an event like this, do not be shy signing up! And if ever you couldn’t get in, there’s always a next time! Keep on trying ;) I actually like that it is on a first-come-first-serve basis and they do not choose who can go and who can don’t go :>
We would be sharing a short video/photo compilation and clips of the event on Thursday under #GlamCorner for our #GlamUpThursday post! So stay tuned! :D
That is all for now Cheers! <3
